Sericin or silk protein is a natural protein that create by
cocoon or silk. Silk is fibre produced by silkwarm in production of cocoon.
Silk consists mainly of two proteins. The two proteins are fibroin and sericin.
It consists of 70-80% fibroin and 20-30% sericin. Sericin is an amorphous
matrix. Sericin has acts is being the glue then link fibroin filaments to stick
to each other. (Fibroin is an insoluble protein present in silk created by
spiders. It being the structural center of the silk.) In sericin has many
advantages. Sericin properties are based on properties of 18 amino acids. The
18 amino acids consist of Glycine, Alanine, Valine, Leucine, Isoleucine,
Proline, Phenylalanine, Aspartis acid, Glutamic acid, Arginine, Histidine,
Lysine, Serine, Threonine, Tyrosine, Cystein, Methionine, and Tryptophan. In 18
amino acids have difference properties . I will summarize the overall of
properties. First, sericin reduce the growth of some microorganisms it reduces
inflammation and reduced skin problem. Sericin is an antioxidant and help to
prevent dry skin. Therefore, in sericin have high moisturizers. Sericin have
special feature is good water retention it is used in many ways. Especially,
used to increase moisture in cosmetics. It used for textiles such as
stockings,lingerie and used in other industries for examples in medical, foods
or drinks, Electrical, transportation. In transportation use of sericinc film
on the surface of the refrigerator, freezer, container the film has an anti-icy
effect. Sericin has many benefits. In present human use sericin applied to made
many type for sell and use. For example, applied to body lotion, soap bar,
shampoo, and conditioner. Soap bar is applied product of cocoon or sericin
extract power. Sericin have benefit that can applied to soap bar to be a skin
care product. I will tell about why use sericin in soap bar when have sericin
in soap bar it has many benefit are as follows:
1. Sericin has high moisturizers make people who use this
product it feel your skin is moist more than before you use.
2. Helps to increase nutrients to cells that produce
collagen and elastin that are protein fibre it help to soft skin, making it
look younger.
